i think it's sad that the republican party is so outdated, i wish they were able to modify their approach and integrate some modern perspectives so they aren't so off-putting. also, the inaccurate statistics and poor scientific studies they bring up is also very discouraging. However, both parties are equally unimpressive in this area
by Pavel1/29/2014 5:29:09 AM
Rick, even based on this discussion, I believe it's clear to all unbiased people that liberals like yourself are way less tolerant and willing to keep the discussion civilized than conservatives. You are not classic liberal, of course. Classic liberals are for a small government and a free market. You are a modern day political liberal who is for a large government and for over-regulating everything that can possibly be regulated - without being educated well enough to know that it will result in one thing and only - equality in poverty and dependence on the government. You want that so you are a liberal in modern day sense of the term. Another thing is that liberals hate the freedom of speech, unless they are the only one who are allowed to exercise that. This is what makes such liberals liberal fascists.
by Samson1/29/2014 5:28:31 AM
well, Boehner is a racist. I don't think Rand is, but he certainly has some interesting perspectives towards female employment
by cons1/29/2014 5:27:43 AM
lol, because i said anything of the sort to show that. Thanks for proving my point.
by Rick Smith1/29/2014 5:26:59 AM
Your a racist when your words prove it. And You sir are a hypocrite and a racist.
by cons1/29/2014 5:25:38 AM
Rick, im sick of liberals saying their opponents are racist/bigots if they have an opposing viewpoint. What happened to REAL debates and arguments without the negativity....
by Rick Smith1/29/2014 5:25:05 AM
Palvel like going from crisis to crisis never passing any bills that help Americans, A true patriot.
by Pavel1/29/2014 5:23:55 AM
Rick, I am sick of liberal fascists calling every opponent a racist.
by Pavel1/29/2014 5:22:51 AM
Rich Smith, We the People voted for Obama twice. Good you actually capable of admitting to the fact. Now, if you apply a little bit of formal logic, it should be relatively easy for you to understand that the same way We the People have elected Republicans in the House and will probably elect more of them into Senate later this year. I know you will want Obama to become an enlightened dictator, a Good Czar of sorts, but this is not how the system works in America.
by Rick Smith1/29/2014 5:22:17 AM
and i'm sick of Tea Bags cll every democrat a liberal. even I know there are a few good Republicans left in the USA. the USA has tons of people that like their politic down the middle, it's not all black and white.
by cons1/29/2014 5:22:16 AM
it would be cool if somehow, we could blog/debate with the CNN'ers on these topics
by Samson1/29/2014 5:21:57 AM
I can say though that I'm disappointed about the poor work done on our foreign trade policy, Obama made some promises and our foreign trade is still a joke. We tax and penalize more here at home then we do with overseas trade.
by Samson1/29/2014 5:19:12 AM
Sorry Pavel, great point but a little correction needed. Congress actually doesn't work hard. Working hard takes more than hours of golf, time in the tanning bed, and 20 vacations a year (ahem John Boehner) but I am glad that we're paying them so much to vacation so often, good to know these "servants" and this process works out so well for us
by cons1/29/2014 5:19:05 AM
thats because american is quite polarized...
by Pavel1/29/2014 5:18:58 AM
Rich Smith, you are a typical aggressive liberal fascist if instead of responding on the merits of your opponents' comments you call them names. From what I see in modern day America, usually one who call others racists are racist. And coward. And potential looter, a great Bolschevik material.
by Cornland Sleptic1/29/2014 5:18:04 AM
the cnn poll results showed INDEPENDENTS the least responsive to the presidents' address- even lower than republicans He def has lost the middle.
by cons1/29/2014 5:17:44 AM
that point when you think you should join politics because you want to do something good for the country..because clearly our president and congress are not functioning properly...... .a dream one day
by Rick Smith1/29/2014 5:17:36 AM
If I remember right WE the PEOPLE voted in Obama twice!
by Pavel1/29/2014 5:16:15 AM
Rich Smith, no offense, but you need to learn about what democratic process means. Congress is elected by We the People and represents We the People. If Obama and Dems expect that the reps of the People will suddenly betray their voters and their own principles to side with Obama's worldview - they are delusional. Congress is working, and working hard in not allowing Obama to push his agenda throw. Again, Congress represents the People. The problem is not in Congress. The problem is in Obama unwilling to compromise, and in liberals largely see the People as some form of uneducated masses which need to be enlightened, forcefully, if necessary, such as through executive orders on issues that actually require a national referendum so important they are.
by Samson1/29/2014 5:15:46 AM
yeah Rick Smith gets weird sometimes but u gto luv em, where's Ron Paul I'm missin that guy right about now
by cons1/29/2014 5:15:16 AM
i see we have some negative nancy
by Rick Smith1/29/2014 5:14:14 AM
Pavel you should be ashamed of yourself, but I know you're not, it's hard for you to overcome years of being a racist, I feel for you, and hope you get help, never know who your grandkids might bring home for dinner.
by cons1/29/2014 5:13:59 AM
in my opinion, obama focused more on social issues in a suffering economy than jobs issues, which are much more important.
by cons1/29/2014 5:12:46 AM
you cant generalize* and say all business owners are repubs
by cons1/29/2014 5:12:22 AM
of course...you can
by Samson1/29/2014 5:12:15 AM
i'm not sure i can compare obama to marx...marx was more successful, lol
by Samson1/29/2014 5:11:53 AM
okay thanks for the clarity, but take a look there's a large amount of entrepreneurs are are in fact dems/obama followers
by Pavel1/29/2014 5:11:06 AM
Samson, I said specifically that this is my personal observation. Experience of others may be different.
by Pavel1/29/2014 5:10:13 AM
Greg, I disagree. I do not think that Obama lies. He wants the best for the country, the way liberals understand the best - larger government, a nanny state, and more regulations to control everything. He does not believe in the self-balancing system of the market economy. He's not alone, many bright individuals from Karl Marx to Paul Krugman think that planned economy is the best option. Obama's problem is that he dreams the same dream Russian socialists had about 100 years ago. His view of America is based on what he has learned from the books of people who have never got anything good coming out of the implementation of their ideas. It's getting clear now that most Americans actually see that being a nice guy does not equal to being a decent president.
by Samson1/29/2014 5:10:10 AM
Pavel, you don't really believe what you said about Repubs vs. Dems = entrepreneurs/owners vs. salaried? come on, that is so far from true. do a little research, you might be surprised how many business owners are dems
by Samson1/29/2014 5:08:34 AM
Well, of course that's true Greg; but, I'm guessing there was more to it than that. Especially since the head of the KKK is the House of Reps...jus' say'n :)
by T.L.LOVE1/29/2014 5:08:21 AM
nobody has answers, the world has changed. technology has changed the workplace. companies know they don't need as many workers. the job market isn't in education or engineering, its in trades. what we need is a reinvestment in the infrastructure in America. the electric grid. the highway system. the bridges.. a cooperative effort between the states, the federal government and the industries across this nation must come together to build the future. be it the next generation of communication or electrical grid. it takes cooperation between industry, state and federal government. and this will put people back to work
by greg1/29/2014 5:07:06 AM
And of course there were those who voted for a skin color; just say'n. FACT
by Rick Smith1/29/2014 5:07:01 AM
Obama only needs a few level headed Congressman to push past this blockade of stagnation and get this country moving in the right distraction again.
by greg1/29/2014 5:04:05 AM
Stupid America fell for his lies, stupid America!
by red state1/29/2014 5:04:04 AM
Obama - build a coal plant and I will bury you with regulations
by cons1/29/2014 5:04:02 AM
good night! =] Enjoyed talking/debating with everyone.
by Pavel1/29/2014 5:04:01 AM
Cons, the point of my comment was that Republicans I meet in my life are more practical and down-to-earth kind of people who understand what fiscal responsibility means and who know how to build and run their business. Democrats, to the contrary, are mostly salaried former college kids who can speak well but often do not know how to create anything that hires people and makes profit.
by gloriaetfortuna1/29/2014 5:03:17 AM
Peace out everyone and I wish you luck in all your journeys, sincerely an independent american who has big dreams.
by Johnno 541/29/2014 5:02:12 AM
Yes Pavel, it was a nice speech
by Warren Peterson1/29/2014 5:02:12 AM
A Canadian's view point is outta here. Have fun everyone! I wish you all the best!
by cons1/29/2014 5:02:05 AM
I agree...great motivational speech, but backed by nothing, and plenty of false statements
by Samson1/29/2014 5:02:05 AM
way to go Pavel!!! good point
by Pavel1/29/2014 5:01:16 AM
Johnno, just to add, for clarity: CNN says that they admit that ones who watched the speech are mostly Democrats. Also, having a positive reaction does not mean agree with what he preaches. I am an independent, social conservative, and I find his speech an excellent motivational speech. Does it mean I support his agenda? Nope. Not at all.
by red state1/29/2014 5:01:12 AM
The other two branch have decided to bypass the president with their pens..
