The government is the answer. Just as long as it plays fair and smart. It definitely can get more done. Local and state government is far more corrupt and dopey, just look at most state governments (pugs and dems, but esp pugs).
Republican party, please don't do it. Don't go seeking a token Latino, African American or woman to be the face of your new, more relatable party. Resist the urge to be who you aren't. It's very transparent.
I worked for a company where a guy was a multi-millionaire. He had just built another MILLION dollar house in the same city and 2 weeks later, I was one of the few who got laid off because he claimed he couldn't afford to keep us on his payroll anymore. This is evidence of how some of the richest Americans don't care about their employees, just about themselves. They want you to be loyal to the company but they are NOT loyal to you
I'd like to know if ANY politician in Washington has EVER tried to provide for their families on unemployment? $9/hr min. wage is a JOKE!! A modest 2 bedroom apt, just for rent would require ATLEAST $14-$15/hr.
Jason, it isn't about taxing the rich, it's about letting their tax cuts expire. And then closing the loopholes that allow them to further shelter money. Billions can be found this way. And billions is a lot of money that can be used elsewhere. The idea isn't to "have rich people pay for everything and everyone", it's about understanding that if you have plenty, you can afford to help others.
